Adhyāya 22: Śālva’s Weapon-Shower, Dāruka’s Wounding, and the Māyā-Report of Vasudeva’s Father
हतास्ते दानवा: सर्वे यै: स शब्द उदीरित: । शरैरादित्यसंकाशैज्वलितै: शब्दसाधनै:,जिन दानवोंने पहले कोलाहल किया था, वे सब सूर्यके समान तेजस्वी शब्दवेधी बाणोंद्वारा मारे गये
hatās te dānavāḥ sarve yaiḥ sa śabda udīritaḥ | śarair āditya-saṅkāśaiḥ jvalitaiḥ śabda-sādhanaiḥ ||
Vāyu nói: “Tất cả bọn Dānava đã gây nên tiếng náo loạn ấy đều bị giết sạch—bị quật ngã bởi những mũi tên rực cháy, sáng như mặt trời, là vũ khí nhắm theo chính âm thanh. Vì thế, tiếng ồn chúng tung ra lại trở thành dấu vết khiến chúng bị phát hiện và diệt trừ.”
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse highlights moral causality: those who create violent disturbance and intimidation become vulnerable to the consequences of their own actions; the uproar they raise turns into the very means of their downfall.
Vāyu reports that the Dānavas who had earlier made a loud clamor were killed by blazing, sun-like arrows described as ‘sound-directed,’ implying that the attackers were located and struck by tracking the noise they produced.
