Adhyāya 22: Śālva’s Weapon-Shower, Dāruka’s Wounding, and the Māyā-Report of Vasudeva’s Father
ततः प्रयाते दाशाहें धृष्टद्युम्नोडपि पार्षत: । द्रौपदेयानुपादाय प्रययौ स्वपुरं तदा,श्रीकृष्णके चले जानेपर ट्रुपदपुत्र धृष्टद्युम्नने भी द्रौपदीकुमारोंको साथ ले अपनी राजधानीको प्रस्थान किया
tataḥ prayāte dāśārhe dhṛṣṭadyumno 'pi pārṣataḥ | draupadeyān upādāya prayayau svapuraṃ tadā ||
Khi Śrī Kṛṣṇa thuộc dòng Dāśārha đã lên đường, Dhṛṣṭadyumna—con của Pṛṣata—cũng khởi hành, đưa theo các con trai của Draupadī, rồi tiến về kinh đô của mình.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores responsible leadership: after a major ally departs, a commander-king ensures the safe custody and proper relocation of the young princes (dependents), reflecting dharma as protection, order, and guardianship within rightful political structures.
After Śrī Kṛṣṇa has left, Dhṛṣṭadyumna also departs, taking Draupadī’s sons with him, and travels to his own capital—signaling the close of a meeting/episode and the organized movement of allied parties.
