अग्निवंशवर्णनम् (Agni-vaṃśa-varṇana) / The Genealogy and Function of Agni
शब्द: स्पर्शक्ष रूपं च रसश्नापि द्विजोत्तम । अपामेते गुणा ब्रह्मन् कीर्तितास्तव सुव्रत,द्विजश्रेष्ठ! शब्द, स्पर्श, रूप और रस--ये चार जलके गुण हैं। उत्तम व्रतका पालन करनेवाले ब्राह्मण! इनका वर्णन पहले भी आपसे किया गया है
śabdaḥ sparśaś ca rūpaṃ ca rasaś cāpi dvijottama | apām ete guṇā brahman kīrtitās tava suvrata ||
“Hỡi bậc tối thắng trong hàng nhị sinh! Âm thanh, xúc chạm, hình sắc và vị—đó là các phẩm tính của nước. Hỡi Bà-la-môn giữ giới hạnh thanh cao, ta đã từng nói với ông về điều này trước đây rồi.”
