उत्तङ्कोपाख्यानप्रारम्भः — Uttanka’s Tapas, Viṣṇu-stuti, and the Dhundhumāra Prophecy

तथा कथां शुभां श्रुत्वा मार्कण्डेयस्यथ धीमत: । विस्मिता: समपद्यन्त पुराणस्य निवेदनात्,बुद्धिमान् मार्कण्डेयजीके मुखसे वह मंगलमयी कथा सुनकर पुराणोक्त बातोंका ज्ञान हो जानेसे सब लोग बड़े ही विस्मित और प्रसन्न हुए
tathā kathāṃ śubhāṃ śrutvā mārkaṇḍeyasya tha dhīmataḥ | vismitāḥ samapadyanta purāṇasya nivedanāt ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: “Nghe bài thuyết giảng cát tường ấy từ miệng bậc hiền triết Mārkaṇḍeya, mọi người hiện diện đều kinh ngạc. Nhờ lời thuật lại câu chuyện Purāṇa xưa, họ thấu hiểu đạo lý và hoan hỷ sâu xa.”
