Sarasvatī–Tārkṣya Saṃvāda: Agnihotra-vidhi, Dāna-phala, and Mokṣa-prasaṅga (सरस्वती–तार्क्ष्यसंवादः)
The verse contrasts two destinies: the limited post-death course of those lacking discernment and true knowledge, and the ‘uttamā gati’—a higher spiritual attainment reserved for the wise. It signals a shift from describing heaven/hell-type outcomes to describing a superior goal grounded in jñāna and viveka.
Sage Mārkaṇḍeya continues instructing Yudhiṣṭhira. Having finished explaining the fate of the ignorant, he now transitions to teaching the higher path and destiny of the knowledgeable, preparing the listener for a more elevated doctrinal exposition.
