Kubera’s Fivefold Nīti and Protection of the Pāṇḍavas (वैश्रवणोपदेशः)
क्षत्रधर्मेण धर्मज्ञ तीर्त्वा गां पालयिष्यसि । तत् तु राजा वचस्तेषां प्रतिगृह्य तपस्विनाम्,“धर्मज्ञ! तुम क्षत्रियरधर्मके अनुसार इस संकटसे पार होकर सारी पृथ्वीका पालन करोगे।” राजा युधिष्ठिरने उन तपस्वी ब्राह्मणोंका यह आशीर्वाद शिरोधार्य किया और वे परंतप नरेश उन ब्राह्मणों तथा भाइयोंके साथ वहाँसे प्रस्थित हुए। घटोत्कच आदि राक्षस भी उनकी सेवाके लिये पीछे-पीछे चले। राजा युधिष्ठिर महर्षि लोमशके द्वारा सर्वथा सुरक्षित थे
kṣatradharmeṇa dharmajña tīrtvā gāṃ pālayiṣyasi | tat tu rājā vacas teṣāṃ pratigṛhya tapasvinām ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: “Hỡi người am tường dharma, nhờ giữ đúng kṣatriya-dharma, ngài sẽ vượt qua cơn nguy này rồi bảo hộ cõi đất.” Vua Yudhiṣṭhira tiếp nhận lời của các vị khổ hạnh như một phúc lành; bậc thiêu đốt quân thù ấy liền lên đường từ đó cùng các hiền triết bà-la-môn và các em. Những rākṣasa như Ghaṭotkaca cũng theo sau để phụng sự. Yudhiṣṭhira được che chở trọn vẹn dưới sự dẫn dắt của đại hiền Lomaśa.
