Hanūmān’s Embrace, Counsel, and Promise to Amplify Bhīma’s Battle-Roar

“आर्य! आपने मुझपर बड़ी कृपा की है। आपके दर्शनसे मुझे बड़ा सुख मिला है। अब मैं पुन: आपके द्वारा अपना एक और प्रिय कार्य पूर्ण करना चाहता हूँ ।। यत् ते तदा55सीत् प्लवत: सागरं मकरालयम् । रूपमप्रतिमं वीर तदिच्छामि निरीक्षितुम्,“वीरवर! मकरालय समुद्रको लाँघते समय आपने जो अनुपम रूप धारण किया था, उसका दर्शन करनेकी मुझे बड़ी इच्छा हो रही है। उसे देखनेसे मुझे संतोष तो होगा ही, आपकी बातपर श्रद्धा भी हो जायगी।” भीमसेनके ऐसा कहनेपर महातेजस्वी हनुमानजीने हँसकर कहा--
yad te tadāsīt plavataḥ sāgaraṁ makarālayam | rūpam apratimaṁ vīra tad icchāmi nirīkṣitum ||
Bhīmasena nói: “Bậc cao quý! Ngài đã ban cho ta ân huệ lớn; chỉ được diện kiến ngài thôi cũng khiến lòng ta hoan hỷ sâu xa. Nay ta lại muốn nhờ ngài hoàn thành một việc thân thiết khác. Hỡi dũng sĩ, khi ngài nhảy vượt đại dương—nơi cư ngụ của loài makara—ngài đã hiện một hình tướng vô song. Ta khát khao được chiêm ngưỡng chính hình tướng ấy. Thấy được nó, không chỉ làm ta thỏa lòng, mà còn củng cố niềm tin của ta vào lời ngài.”
