The verse highlights a forceful but restrained assertion of will: Bhīma demands passage without debating consequences, yet offers a conditional non-violence—if the other yields, no harm will be done. It frames ethical tension between pride/impulse and the choice to avoid causing suffering when compliance is possible.
Bhīmasena addresses a vānara who is obstructing the way. He refuses to engage in discussion about potential danger to himself and commands the vānara to rise and clear the path, warning that otherwise the vānara may suffer pain at his hands.
