हम () अऑणआ आह षड्विशरत्याधेकशततमो< ध्याय: राजा मान्धाताकी उत्पत्ति और संक्षिप्त चरित्र युधिछिर उवाच मान्धाता राजशार्दूलस्त्रिषु लोकेषु विश्लुत: । कथं जातो महाब्रद्यन् यौवनाश्वो नृपोत्तम:,युधिष्ठिरने पूछा-ब्राह्मणश्रेष्ठ! युवनाश्वके पुत्र नृपश्रेष्ठ मान्धाता तीनों लोकोंमें विख्यात थे। उनकी उत्पत्ति किस प्रकार हुई थी?

mandhātā rājaśārdūlas triṣu lokeṣu viśrutaḥ |
kathaṁ jāto mahābrāhman yauvanāśvo nṛpottamaḥ ||
Yudhiṣṭhira thưa: «Bạch đại Bà-la-môn, Māndhātṛ—hổ tướng giữa các bậc quân vương—lừng danh khắp ba cõi. Vị minh quân ấy, con của vua Yuvanāśva, đã ra đời bằng cách nào?»
