Kṛṣṇa’s Counsel to Dhṛtarāṣṭra in the Assembly

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the moral force of a dharmic presence: Kṛṣṇa’s expected arrival generates collective joy and movement in the royal assembly, suggesting that wise, righteous mediation can soften hostility and reorient leaders toward restraint and right counsel.

Vaiśampāyana describes the royal council becoming visibly stirred—almost trembling—with excitement because they are eagerly awaiting Kṛṣṇa’s auspicious arrival, anticipating his role in the unfolding negotiations before war.
