न व्यवस्यन्ति पाण्डूनां प्रदातुं पैतृक वसु । वे भीष्म, द्रोण और विदुरके बहुत अनुनय-विनय करनेपर भी पाण्डवोंको उनका पैतृक धन वापस देनेका निश्चय अथवा प्रयास नहीं कर रहे हैं
na vyavasyanti pāṇḍūnāṃ pradātuṃ paitṛkaṃ vasu |
Vaiśampāyana nói: Họ không quyết định trả lại gia sản tổ tiên của Pāṇḍava. Dẫu Bhīṣma, Droṇa và Vidura đã hết lòng khẩn cầu và khuyên giải để hòa giải, họ vẫn không hề quyết tâm, cũng chẳng hề nỗ lực, để hoàn lại cho Pāṇḍava điều vốn thuộc về họ; đó là sự cố ý khước từ công lý, đẩy vương quốc đến bờ xung đột.
