Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic deliberation in family and political life: major decisions like marriage should be made with clear resolve and with attention to propriety, lineage, and the welfare of the family.

Dupada describes how a husband and wife, after deciding on a course of action, proceed to select the daughter of the king of Daśārṇa as a bride for their son, indicating a formal arrangement of marriage.
