Bhishma and Rama: Restraint and Withdrawal in the Engagement
तानुवाच ततः कन्या तपोवृद्धानृषींस्तदा । निराकृतास्मि भीष्मेण भ्रंशिता पतिधर्मत:ः
tān uvāca tataḥ kanyā tapovṛddhān ṛṣīṁs tadā | nirākṛtāsmi bhīṣmeṇa bhraṁśitā patidharmataḥ ||
Bấy giờ thiếu nữ ấy thưa với các bậc ẩn sĩ đã chín muồi bởi khổ hạnh: “Bhīṣma đã khước từ ta; ta bị tước mất pháp của người vợ—cả việc được có chồng lẫn bổn phận phụng sự tận tụy theo sau.”
