भीष्मस्वप्न-स्मृत्युपाख्यानम् | Bhīṣma’s Dream-Linked Recollection of the Paraśurāma Combat

Chính vào ngày thiếu nữ ấy quyết chí tu khổ hạnh (tapas) và lên đường vào rừng, ngay ngày ấy ta đã bàng hoàng đau đớn, buồn bã suy sụp, gần như mất cả tri giác.
राम उवाच
The verse highlights the emotional cost of renunciation for those left behind, pointing to an ethical tension: while tapas and withdrawal may be dharmically meaningful for the ascetic, attachment and grief naturally arise in others, revealing the need for steadiness of mind and compassionate understanding.
Rāma says that on the very day the maiden, determined to undertake austerities, departed for the forest, he was immediately overcome by distress and dejection, feeling almost senseless from sorrow.
