Amba approaches the Paraśurāma context; Hotravāhana’s counsel and Akṛtavraṇa’s report (अम्बोपाख्यानम्—रामदर्शनप्रसङ्गः)
अनुज्ञाता तु भीष्मेण शाल्वं सौभपतिं ततः । कन्येयं मुदिता तत्र काले वचनमब्रवीत्,भीष्मकी आज्ञा पाकर यह कन्या मन-ही-मन अत्यन्त प्रसन्न हो सौभ विमानके स्वामी शाल्वके यहाँ गयी और वहाँ उस समय इस प्रकार बोली--
anujñātā tu bhīṣmeṇa śālvaṃ saubhapatiṃ tataḥ | kanyeyaṃ muditā tatra kāle vacanam abravīt ||
Được Bhīṣma cho phép, cô gái ấy liền đến với Śālva, chúa tể Saubha. Mừng thầm trong dạ, đến đúng lúc nàng thưa với ông như sau—hành xử theo sự chấp thuận đã nhận và theo bổn phận xã hội chi phối việc chọn phu quân của mình.
होत्रवाहन उवाच
The verse highlights dharma in action: major life decisions—especially marriage—are framed by rightful permission, proper timing, and respect for established authority, even when driven by personal desire.
After receiving Bhīṣma’s consent, the maiden goes to Śālva, known as the lord of Saubha, and at an appropriate moment addresses him—setting up her request/appeal in the unfolding episode.
