भीष्म–दुर्योधनसंवादः — शिखण्डिनं न हन्तुं कारणकथनम्
Amba-ākhyāna prologue
पाण्ड्यराजो महावीर्य: पाण्डवानां धुरंधर: । दृढ्धन्वा महेष्वास: पाण्डवानां महारथ:,पाण्डवपक्षके धुरंधर वीर महापराक्रमी पाण्डयराज भी एक अन्य महारथी हैं। ये पाण्डवोंके प्रति अनुराग रखनेवाले और शूरवीर हैं। इनका धनुष महान् और सुदृढ़ है। ये पाण्डवसेनाके सम्माननीय महारथी हैं
pāṇḍyarājo mahāvīryaḥ pāṇḍavānāṃ dhuraṃdharaḥ | dṛḍhadhanvā maheṣvāsaḥ pāṇḍavānāṃ mahārathaḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Vua xứ Pāṇḍya dũng lực phi thường, là bậc gánh vác trọng trách hàng đầu trong phe Pāṇḍava. Cung cứng, cung lớn, thiện xạ bậc thầy, ông đứng vào hàng đại xa chiến của Pāṇḍava.”
