Bhīṣma’s Appraisal of Kaurava Champions (भीष्मकृतः रथिनां गुणनिरूपणम्)
रथसंख्यां तु कार्त्स्न्येन परेषामात्मनस्तथा । तथैवातिरथानां च वेत्तुमिच्छामि कौरव
rathasaṅkhyāṃ tu kārtsnyena pareṣām ātmanas tathā | tathaivātirathānāṃ ca vettum icchāmi kaurava, kurunandana!
Duryodhana nói: “Hỡi Kaurava, niềm vinh hiển của dòng Kuru! Ngươi biết tường tận số chiến xa của phe địch và phe ta, cũng như số các atiratha—những đại xa chiến. Ta muốn được nghe điều ấy từ chính ngươi. Vì Tổ phụ Bhīṣma tinh thông mọi chi tiết của cả hai bên, ta muốn nghe sự thẩm định này từ miệng ngươi, trước mặt các vua chúa nơi đây.”
