दारेष्वप्यतिसक्तश्न यक्ष्माणं समपद्यत | यदा त्वराजके राष्ट्र न ववर्ष सुरेश्वर: । तदाभ्यधावन् मामेव प्रजा: क्षुद्धयपीडिता:
dāreṣv apy atisaktaś ca yakṣmāṇaṃ samapadyata | yadā tv arājake rāṣṭre na vavarṣa sureśvaraḥ | tadābhyadhāvan mām eva prajāḥ kṣudhayāpīḍitāḥ |
Vāyu nói: “Dẫu đang chìm trong sự quyến luyến quá độ với các thê tử, họ mắc chứng rājayakṣmā (lao phổi) và vì bệnh ấy mà chết. Rồi khi vương quốc không còn vua, Indra—chúa tể chư thiên—đã ngăn mưa. Trong cảnh ấy, toàn thể dân chúng, bị nỗi đói giày vò, chỉ còn chạy đến một mình ta để cầu nương tựa.”
