Adhyāya 12: Devas’ Petition to Nahūṣa; Bṛhaspati on Śaraṇāgata-Dharma; Indrāṇī’s Strategic Delay

एवमुक्ता तु सा देवी बाष्पमुत्सूज्य सस्वनम्‌ । उवाच रुदती दीना बृहस्पतिमिदं वच:,देवताओंके यह बात कहनेपर शची देवी आँसू बहाती हुई फूट-फ़ूटकर रोने लगीं और दीन-भावसे बृहस्पतिजीको सम्बोधित करके इस प्रकार बोलीं--

evamuktā tu sā devī bāṣpam utsṛjya sasvanam | uvāca rudatī dīnā bṛhaspatim idaṁ vacaḥ ||

Nghe chư thiên nói vậy, nữ thần Śacī liền tuôn lệ, nức nở thành tiếng. Vừa khóc vừa đau đớn, lòng hạ mình vì khổ não, nàng hướng về Bṛhaspati mà thưa lời này—
