Adhyāya 108: Paścima-dik—Varuṇa’s Realm, Sunset Cosmology, and Sacred-Geographic Markers

अत्र दुष्कृतकर्माणो नरा: पच्यन्ति गालव । अत्र वैतरणी नाम नदी वितरणैर्वृता
atra duṣkṛtakarmāṇo narāḥ pacyante gālava | atra vaitaraṇī nāma nadī vitaraṇair vṛtā ||
Tại đây, hỡi Gālava, những kẻ làm ác bị nấu trong khổ hình. Tại đây nữa có con sông mang tên Vaitaraṇī, bị vây quanh bởi những kẻ tội lỗi phải ‘được đưa qua’—những kẻ đáng vào địa ngục ấy—thành một ranh giới ghê rợn của báo ứng.
