तथापि मैं जो रथकी ध्वजामें रहकर यत्नपूर्वक आपके छोटे भाई (विष्णु)-की सेवा करता और उनको वहन करता हूँ, इसीसे आप मेरी अवहेलना करते हैं ।। को<न्यो भार सहो हास्ति को<न्यो5स्ति बलवत्तर: । मया यो<हं विशिष्ट: सन्‌ वहामीमं सबान्धवम्‌,मेरे सिवा दूसरा कौन है, जो भगवान्‌ विष्णुका महान्‌ भार सह सके? कौन मुझसे अधिक बलवान है? मैं सबसे विशिष्ट शक्तिशाली होकर भी बन्धु-बान्धवोंसहित इन विष्णुभगवानका भार वहन करता हूँ

tathāpi mayā yo rathakī-dhvajāntar-sthitaḥ yatnapūrvakaṃ tava kṣudra-bhrātṛṃ (viṣṇuṃ) sevamānaḥ taṃ ca vahāmi, tasmād eva tvaṃ mām avajānāsi. ko 'nyo bhāra-saho 'sti? ko 'nyo 'sti balavattaraḥ? mayā yo 'haṃ viśiṣṭaḥ san vahāmi imaṃ sabāndhavam.

“Dẫu vậy, ta—ngự nơi kỳ hiệu trên cỗ xe—vẫn cẩn trọng phụng sự em trai của ngươi là Viṣṇu và nâng Ngài lên cao; thế mà chính vì thế ngươi lại khinh miệt ta. Còn ai khác có thể chịu nổi gánh nặng lớn lao ấy? Ai mạnh hơn ta? Dẫu ta trổi vượt về uy lực, ta vẫn mang Đấng Viṣṇu này cùng hết thảy những kẻ gắn bó với Ngài.”
