Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 2 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry for His Kin and the Vision of a Punitive Realm
ते वयं पार्थ दीर्घस्य कालस्य पुरुषर्षभ । सुखमासादयिष्यामस्त्वां दृष्टवा राजसत्तम,'पुरुषप्रवर! कुन्तीकुमार! नृपश्रेष्ठ) आज दीर्घकालके पश्चात् आपका दर्शन पाकर हम सुखका अनुभव करेंगे
te vayaṁ pārtha dīrghasya kālasya puruṣarṣabha | sukham āsādayiṣyāmas tvāṁ dṛṣṭvā rājasattama ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: “Hỡi Pārtha, bậc trượng phu kiệt xuất, bậc vương giả tối thượng—sau một quãng thời gian dài, được thấy ngài, chúng ta rốt cuộc sẽ đạt đến an ủi và hoan lạc.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the human and ethical value of reunion and recognition: after prolonged suffering and separation, the sight of a revered person brings solace. It also reflects the Mahābhārata’s emphasis on honoring worthy individuals through truthful, respectful address.
In Svargārohaṇa, the speaker (Vaiśampāyana narrating) reports words of welcome to Arjuna (Pārtha): after a long time, seeing him again brings happiness and relief, marking a moment of emotional resolution amid the parva’s final transitions.
