Svargārohaṇa-parva Adhyāya 2 — Yudhiṣṭhira’s Inquiry for His Kin and the Vision of a Punitive Realm
करम्भवालुकास्तप्ता आयसीश्व शिला:पृथक् । लोहकुम्भी श्व॒ तैलस्य क्वाथ्यमाना: समन्ततः
karambha-vālukās taptā āyasīś ca śilāḥ pṛthak | loha-kumbhī ca tailasya kvāthyamānāḥ samantataḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: “Có nơi, những đống cát trộn cháo loãng (karambha) nóng rực; nơi khác, những tấm sắt khổng lồ được đặt rải rác. Và khắp chung quanh, dầu đang bị đun sôi trong các vạc sắt.” Cảnh ấy làm bầu không khí báo ứng thêm ngột ngạt: con đường phía trước hiện ra như một địa ngục của sức nóng và hình phạt, gợi lên hậu quả của adharma và tội lỗi tích tụ.
