Transliteration

Janamejaya uvāca | dharmātmani mahāvīrye satyasaṃdhe jitātmani | devavrate mahābhāge śaratālpagate 'cyute |

Translation

Janamejaya thưa: “Bạch đại hiền, khi Devavrata Bhīṣma—tâm hồn hướng về dharma, dũng lực vô song, kiên định với chân thật, tự chế, không hề rời bỏ dharma—đang nằm trên giường mũi tên, và các Pāṇḍava đến đứng trước ngài để phụng hầu, thì trong khoảnh khắc trọng đại ấy, khi quân đội của cả hai phe đã bị tiêu diệt hoàn toàn, đã có những lời nào được nói ra? Xin hãy kể cho con.”
