अध्याय ३५१ — उञ्छवृत्ति-व्रतसिद्धेः मानुषस्य परमगतिः

Sūrya–Nāga Dialogue on the Perfected Gleaner-Ascetic

वेदाख्याने श्रुति: कार्या त्वया मतिमतां वर । तस्मात्‌ कुरु यथा5ज्ञप्तं ममैतद्‌ वचन मुने

Vaiśampāyana uvāca |

vedākhyāne śrutiḥ kāryā tvayā matimatāṁ vara |

tasmāt kuru yathājñaptaṁ mamaitad vacanaṁ mune ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: “Hỡi bậc hiền triết, người ưu tú nhất trong hàng trí giả! Để giảng giải Veda, ngươi hãy sưu tập và sắp đặt các bản khải thị (śruti)—Ṛk, Sāman, Yajus và các phần khác—mỗi bộ riêng rẽ. Vì vậy, hãy làm đúng như ta đã truyền, hỡi đạo sĩ. Đó là mệnh lệnh của ta dành cho ngươi.”
