अध्याय ३५१ — उञ्छवृत्ति-व्रतसिद्धेः मानुषस्य परमगतिः

Sūrya–Nāga Dialogue on the Perfected Gleaner-Ascetic

स्वरूपिणी ततो बुद्धिरुपतस्थे हरिं प्रभुम्‌ । योगेन चैनां निर्योग: स्वयं नियुयुजे तदा

svarūpiṇī tato buddhir upatasthē hariṁ prabhum | yogena caināṁ niryogaḥ svayaṁ niyuyuje tadā ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: Vừa khi Ngài khởi niệm, Trí Tuệ hữu hình (Buddhi) liền đến đứng hầu trước Hari, bậc Chúa tể. Rồi Nārāyaṇa—Đấng vượt ngoài sự chi phối của kẻ khác—tự nơi ý nguyện của mình, ngay lúc ấy, ban cho Buddhi năng lực yoga, khiến nàng xứng hợp cho sự hiệp nhất thiêng liêng và phụng sự.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights that true spiritual capacity of the intellect (buddhi) is not merely self-generated; when the mind turns toward the Lord, divine grace can empower and ‘yoke’ the intellect with yoga, making it fit for higher realization and righteous discernment.

Upon contemplation, Buddhi appears in a personified, embodied form and attends Hari. Nārāyaṇa, described as independent and unconstrained, then personally endows that Buddhi with yogic power—effectively appointing and empowering her for divine purpose.
