Nāga-āyatana-darśana-pratīkṣā — The Brāhmaṇa’s Request and Waiting on the Gomatī
बदरीमाश्रमं प्राप्पय समागम्य च तावृषी । कियन्तं कालमवसत् प्रश्नान् कान् पृष्टवांश्व॒ ह
Janamejaya uvāca: Badarīm āśramaṁ prāpya samāgamya ca tāv ṛṣī | kiyantaṁ kālam avasat praśnān kān pṛṣṭavān ha ||
Janamejaya nói: “Sau khi hiền triết Nārada, con của Phạm Thiên, trở về từ Śvetadvīpa và đến ẩn viện Badarī, gặp hai vị ṛṣi ấy, ngài đã ở lại đó bao lâu? Và đã hỏi họ những câu hỏi nào?”
जनमेजय उवाच
The verse foregrounds dhārmic learning through disciplined inquiry: sacred knowledge is approached by seeking out realized teachers, staying with them, and asking precise questions—emphasizing humility, patience, and the proper method of receiving instruction.
Janamejaya asks the narrator to continue the account of Nārada: after returning from Śvetadvīpa and arriving at Badarikāśrama, Nārada meets two resident sages. Janamejaya wants to know the length of Nārada’s stay there and the specific questions he asked them.
