Atithi-satkāra and the Consolation of Wise Counsel (अतिथिसत्कारः प्रज्ञानवचनस्य च पराश्वासनम्)

त्रयो हि धातव: ख्याता: कर्मजा इति ते स्मृता: । पित्तं श्लेष्मा च वायुश्चव एब संघात उच्यते

trayo hi dhātavaḥ khyātāḥ karmajā iti te smṛtāḥ | pittaṁ śleṣmā ca vāyuś caiva saṅghāta ucyate |

Trong thân thể, ba yếu tố nổi tiếng là vāyu (vāta), pitta và śleṣman (kapha). Cả ba được ghi nhớ là phát sinh từ nghiệp (karma). Tổng hợp của chúng gọi là “tridhātu” (ba thể chất/ba doṣa). Hữu tình nương vào sự hiện hữu của chúng mà duy trì mạng sống, và khi chúng suy kiệt thì sinh lực cũng suy. Vì vậy, các bậc thông hiểu Ayurveda gọi Ta là “Tridhātu”.
