अध्याय ३२३ — श्वेतद्वीपगमनम्, यज्ञभाग-विवादः, एकान्तिभक्त्या नारायणदर्शन-नियमः (Śvetadvīpa Journey; Dispute over Sacrificial Share; Rule of Nārāyaṇa-vision through Single-minded Devotion)
etad icchāmy ahaṃ śrotuṃ vistareṇa mahāmate | na hi me tṛptir astīha śṛṇvato 'mṛtam uttamam ||
The verse highlights the dharmic attitude of a seeker-king: respectful inquiry, eagerness for detailed understanding, and the recognition that true ethical instruction is ‘amṛta’—life-giving and inexhaustible—so one should listen repeatedly without complacency.
In the instructional setting of Śānti Parva, Yudhiṣṭhira addresses a revered teacher (‘mahāmate’) and requests that the topic under discussion be explained at length, saying he is not yet satisfied because the discourse is supremely sweet and nectar-like.
