Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharma expressed through yajña and dāna: a righteous ruler upholds cosmic and social order by performing sacrifices with generous dakṣiṇā, while also honoring obligations to both gods and ancestors through acts that ‘satisfy’ them.

After a prior event (implied by ‘thereafter’), the radiant figure undertakes numerous major sacrificial rites and distributes abundant gifts, thereby ritually gratifying the deities and the ancestral spirits.
