vidhavā yasya viṣaye nānāthāḥ kāścanābhavan | sadaivāsīt pitṛsamo rāmo rājyaṃ yad anvaśāt |
Trong vương quốc của Ngài, không người phụ nữ nào trở thành góa phụ khốn cùng, không nơi nương tựa. Suốt thời gian Rāma trị vì, Ngài luôn thương dân không hề gián đoạn, chăm nom họ như một người cha.
वायुदेव उवाच
The verse presents an ideal of righteous kingship (rājadharma): a ruler’s duty is protective, paternal care of the people, ensuring social security so that the vulnerable—here emphasized as widows—do not become helpless or unsupported.
Vāyudeva is describing the excellence of Rāma’s governance, stating that throughout Rāma’s reign no woman in his realm became an unprotected widow, because he ruled with constant, father-like compassion toward his subjects.
