अध्याय २८१ — दानधर्मः, न्यायागतधनम्, ऋणत्रय-परिशोधनं च
Dāna ethics, lawful wealth, and settling obligations
सर्वावस्थं॑ त्वमप्येषां द्विजातीनां प्रियं कुरु । इमे हि भूतले देवा: प्रथिता: कुरुनन्दन
sarvāvasthaṁ tvam apy eṣāṁ dvijātīnāṁ priyaṁ kuru | ime hi bhūtale devāḥ prathitāḥ kurunandana ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Trong mọi hoàn cảnh, con cũng hãy làm điều khiến những bậc ‘nhị sinh’ ấy được vui lòng và được lợi ích, hỡi niềm hân hoan của dòng Kuru. Vì trên cõi đất này, họ được tôn xưng như những vị thần.”
