Bhishma nói: “Tâu Đại vương, khi ấy, vừa thoáng thấy hình tướng uy nghi, cao lớn phi thường của Vṛtra, Śakra (Indra) liền bị nỗi sợ chụp lấy, hai đùi cứng đờ—thân xác phơi bày sự sụp đổ của dũng khí bên trong trước một đối thủ đáng kinh hãi.”

Educational Q&A

Even the mighty can be overtaken by fear; true strength in dharma includes self-mastery and steadiness of mind when confronted with overwhelming appearances.

Bhīṣma narrates that Indra, on suddenly seeing Vṛtra’s immense and splendid form, becomes frightened and physically stiffens—his thighs locking in a moment of panic.
