Kapila–Cow Dialogue: Authority of Householder and Renunciant Dharmas

jātapakṣāṃś ca so 'paśyad uḍḍīnān punar āgatān | sāyaṃ sāyaṃ dvijān vipro na cākampata jājaliḥ ||

Educational Q&A

Steadfast self-restraint: even while witnessing daily movement and change around him, the ascetic maintains unwavering composure, suggesting that true tapas is inner stability rather than outward display.

The young birds, now winged, fly out during the day and return each evening. Jājali observes this repeated pattern but remains motionless, emphasizing his disciplined austerity.
