ततसस््तु स्वनमासाद्य वायु: सम्भवमात्मन: । अधश्नोर्ध्व च तिर्यक् च दोधवीति दिशों दश,वह बड़े जोरसे हरहराती और अपने वेगसे उत्पन्न आवाजको फैलाती हुई ऊपर-नीचे तथा इधर-उधर दसों दिशाओंमें चलने लगती है
tatas tu svanam āsādya vāyuḥ sambhavam ātmanaḥ | adhaś cordhvaṃ ca tiryak ca dodhavīti diśo daśa ||
Rồi gió chạm đến tiếng gầm của chính mình—sinh từ sức lực của chính nó—và gào rít dữ dội, cuộn xoáy trào dâng, khi xuống khi lên, khi ngang dọc, quét khắp mười phương.
व्यास उवाच
The verse highlights how a force generated from its own momentum can expand in every direction; ethically, it suggests that unrestrained power or agitation—once self-propelled—spreads widely and affects the whole environment, so restraint and steadiness are essential for sustaining dharma.
Vyāsa describes a powerful wind that, upon producing its own roaring sound, begins to surge violently—up, down, and sideways—sweeping across all ten directions, functioning as vivid atmospheric description and a sign of pervasive disturbance.
