वेदज्ञानं तथा कृत्स्नं तप: सुचरितं तथा । द्रविणोपार्जनं भूरि पात्रे च प्रतिपादनम्‌

Transliteration

vedajñānaṃ tathā kṛtsnaṃ tapaḥ sucaritaṃ tathā | draviṇopārjanaṃ bhūri pātre ca pratipādanam ||

Translation

Vyāsa tuyên rằng: “Công việc đúng đắn của bậc quân vương gồm: tri kiến trọn vẹn về các Veda; khổ hạnh được thực hành thuần thục và hạnh kiểm ngay thẳng; nỗ lực tích lũy tài vật; và chủ ý ban tặng cho những người xứng đáng. Đó là những kỷ luật của vương đạo; làm cho hợp lẽ thì giữ vững trật tự xã hội và đem lại phúc đức cho cả đời này lẫn đời sau.”
