Adhyāya 193: Adjudication of the Comparable Fruits of Japa and Yoga
जो लोभ और मोहसे युक्त हो एक दूसरेको खा जानेके लिये उद्यत रहते हैं, वे भी इसी लोकमें आवागमन करते रहते हैं, उत्तरदिशाके उत्कृष्ट लोकमें नहीं जाने पाते हैं ।।
bharadvāja uvāca | ye lobha-mohābhyāṁ yuktā anyonyam khāditum udyatāḥ santi, te ’pi asmin loke punar-āvartante; na tu uttaradiśaḥ utkṛṣṭaṁ lokaṁ gacchanti || ye gurūn paryupāsante niyatā brahmacāriṇaḥ, manasendriyāṇi saṁyamya; panthānaṁ sarva-lokānāṁ vijānanti manīṣiṇaḥ ||
Bharadvāja nói: “Kẻ bị lòng tham và si mê trói buộc, luôn sẵn sàng nuốt chửng lẫn nhau, cứ luân chuyển ngay trong cõi này; họ không thể đạt đến cõi thù thắng ở phương bắc. Nhưng những brahmacārin có kỷ luật, chế ngự tâm và các căn, một lòng phụng sự bậc thầy—những bậc trí ấy thấu biết các nẻo đường dẫn đến mọi thế giới.”
