Educational Q&A

The verse highlights that higher truth is apprehended through jñāna (inner knowledge) rather than ordinary sight; spiritual discernment can reveal the divine reality concealed within an apparent form.

A brahmin-sage directs his ‘far-reaching’ vision of knowledge toward a person before him and perceives that the figure is in fact Indra, the lord of the gods, identified by the epithet Śacīpati.
