जात्यैवैके सुखितरा: सन्त्यन्ये भृुशदु:खिता: । नैकान्तं सुखमेवेह क्वचित्पश्यामि कस्यचित्
jātyaivaike sukhitarāḥ santyanye bhṛśa-duḥkhitāḥ | naikāntaṃ sukhameveha kvacit paśyāmi kasyacit ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Do chính loài và cảnh sinh mà có kẻ tương đối an lạc, lại có kẻ vì thế mà chịu khổ não cùng cực. Nhưng trong đời này, ta chẳng thấy ở đâu có ai được hưởng hạnh phúc trọn vẹn, không xen một mảy khổ đau.”
