जनक-राज्ञः मौण्ड्य-परिव्रज्या-विवादः

Janaka’s Renunciation Questioned; Discourse on Dāna and Detachment

ऑपन-माज बछ। ऑफ ऋाजज - आमिषं बन्धनं लोके कर्मेहोक्तं तथामिषम्‌ । ताभ्यां विमुक्तः पापाभ्यां पदमाप्नोति तत्परम्‌ ।। (१७।१७) अष्टादशो<् ध्याय: अर्जुन॒का राजा जनक और उनकी रानीका दृष्टान्त देते हुए युधिष्ठिरको संन्यास ग्रहण करनेसे रोकना वैशम्पायन उवाच तृष्णीम्भूतं तु राजानं पुनरेवार्जुनोडब्रवीत्‌ । संतप्त: शोकदुःखाभ्यां राजवाक्छल्यपीडित:,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! जब राजा युधिष्ठिर ऐसा कहकर चुप हो गये, तब राजाके वाग्बाणोंसे पीड़ित हो शोक और दुःखसे संतप्त हुए अर्जुन फिर उनसे बोले

vaiśampāyana uvāca | tṛṣṇīmbhūtaṃ tu rājānaṃ punar evārjuno 'bravīt | saṃtaptāḥ śoka-duḥkhābhyāṃ rāja-vāk-śalya-pīḍitaḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana nói: Khi vua Yudhiṣṭhira nói như vậy rồi lặng im, Arjuna—bị những lời sắc như mũi tên của nhà vua đâm thấu và bừng cháy vì sầu khổ—lại một lần nữa cất lời với ngài.
