सामुद्रिकान्‌ स वणिजस्ततो<पश्यत्‌ स्थितान्‌ पथि । स तेन सह सार्थन प्रययौ सागरं प्रति

sāmudrikān sa vaṇijas tato 'paśyat sthitān pathi | sa tena saha sārthena prayayau sāgaraṃ prati ||

Bhīṣma nói: Rồi ông thấy trên đường một nhóm thương nhân Vaiśya—những người gắn bó với vùng ven biển—đang dừng lại. Ông nhập vào đoàn lữ thương ấy và cùng họ tiến về phía đại dương.
