अज्ञान–लोभयोः परस्परहेतुत्वम्

Mutual Causality of Ignorance and Greed

छिद्राणि विवृतान्येव साधूनां चावृणोति यः । यः पाप॑ पुरुष: कृत्वा कल्याणमभिपलद्यते

chidrāṇi vivṛtānyeva sādhūnām cāvṛṇoti yaḥ | yaḥ pāpa-puruṣaḥ kṛtvā kalyāṇam abhipadyate ||

Śaunaka nói: Người che đậy những lỗi lộ rõ của bậc hiền—cố gìn giữ danh dự cho người thiện—và người đã phạm tội rồi quay lưng với tội ấy, bước vào nẻo hành thiện: cả hai đều trở nên sạch tội. Lời dạy tôn vinh việc bảo hộ thanh danh của người lành và sức mạnh của sự cải hóa chân thành.
