चातुर्वर्ण्यप्रमोदाय सुनीतिनयनाय च । दण्डो विधात्रा विहितो धर्मार्थो भुवि रक्षितुम्‌

Transliteration

cāturvarṇya-pramodāya sunīti-nayanāya ca | daṇḍo vidhātrā vihito dharmārtho bhuvi rakṣitum ||

Translation

Arjuna nói: “Vì sự an lạc và hòa hợp của bốn giai tầng, và để dẫn dắt con người bằng chính sách sáng suốt cùng hạnh kiểm đúng đắn, Đấng Tạo Hóa đã đặt ra cây roi của hình phạt—một khí cụ của dharma—để bảo hộ thế gian.”
