Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca
'भैया! इस नेवलेसे मुझे बड़ा डर लग रहा है। इसलिये मैं तुम्हारे पीछे इस जालमें प्रवेश कर जाऊँगा, परंतु दादा! तुम मुझे मार न डालना, बचा लेना; क्योंकि जीवित रहनेपर ही मैं तुम्हारी रक्षा करनेमें समर्थ हूँ ।।
bhīṣma uvāca | ulūkāc caiva māṃ rakṣa kṣudraḥ prārthayate hi mām | ahaṃ chetsyāmi te pāśān sakhe satyena te śape ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Anh ơi! Ta rất sợ con cầy mangut này. Vì thế ta sẽ theo sau ngươi mà chui vào lưới; nhưng, bậc trưởng thượng, xin đừng giết ta—hãy cứu ta; bởi chỉ khi còn sống ta mới có thể bảo vệ ngươi. Lại xin che chở ta khỏi con cú nữa; loài hèn mọn ấy đang rình lấy mạng ta. Bạn hiền, ta thề trước chính Chân Lý: ta sẽ cắt đứt dây trói của ngươi.”
