Apaddharma Determination: Dialogue of Viśvāmitra and the Śvapaca

सतां साप्तपदं मैत्रं स सखा मे5सि पण्डित: । सांवास्यकं करिष्यामि नास्ति ते भयमद्य वै

Transliteration

satāṁ sāptapadaṁ maitraṁ sa sakhā me ’si paṇḍitaḥ | sāṁvāsyakaṁ kariṣyāmi nāsti te bhayam adya vai ||

Translation

Bhishma nói: “Giữa những người hiền thiện, chỉ cần cùng bước bảy bước là tình bằng hữu đã được kết ước. Ngươi và ta đã sống kề cận nơi đây từ lâu, nên ngươi là người bạn uyên bác của ta. Ta nhất định sẽ làm tròn bổn phận đối với kẻ đã cùng chung chỗ ở; vì vậy, từ hôm nay trở đi, ngươi không còn gì phải sợ.”
