एवमुक्तस्तु मार्जारो मूषिकेणात्मनो हितम् । वचन वाक्यतत्त्वज्ञो जीवितार्थी महामति:
evam uktas tu mārjāro mūṣikeṇātmano hitam | vacana-vākya-tattvajño jīvitārthī mahāmatiḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: Được con chuột nói như vậy, con mèo—kẻ tinh tường nắm bắt ý nghĩa chân thực của lời nói, chỉ cốt giữ mạng mình và vốn rất mưu trí—liền cất tiếng, trình bày điều nó cho là lợi ích của bản thân.
