Sumitra Itihāsa Begins
सो5हं वागग्रविद्यानां रसानामवलेहिता । स्वजात्यानधितिष्ठामि नक्षत्राणीव चन्द्रमा:
so 'haṃ vāg-agra-vidyānāṃ rasānām avalehitā | sva-jātyān adhitiṣṭhāmi nakṣatrāṇīva candramāḥ ||
Prahlāda nói: “Ta là kẻ đứng ở hàng đầu trong các khoa học về lời nói, kẻ nếm và rút lấy tinh túy (rasa). Ta cai quản đồng loại của mình, như mặt trăng cai quản muôn vì sao.”
प्रह्माद उवाच
True authority is grounded in mastery of speech and discernment of ‘rasa’—the ability to extract the essential meaning and value from knowledge—so that leadership becomes a natural, stabilizing presence, like the moon among the stars.
Prahlāda presents a self-description of his excellence in verbal knowledge and his capacity to savor and distill meanings, using the cosmic image of the moon guiding the stars to express rightful preeminence and orderly governance over his own community.
