विद्या तपो वा विपुलं धनं वा सर्व होतद्‌ व्यवसायेन शक्‍्यम्‌ | बुद्धयायत्तं तन्निवसेद्‌ देहवत्सु तस्माद्‌ विद्याद्‌ व्यवसायं प्रभूतम्‌

Transliteration

vidyā tapo vā vipulaṃ dhanaṃ vā sarvaṃ hy etad vyavasāyena śakyam | buddhyāyattaṃ tan nivased dehavatṣu tasmād vidyād vyavasāyaṃ prabhūtam ||

Translation

Bhishma nói: Học vấn, khổ hạnh, hay cả của cải dồi dào—tất thảy đều có thể đạt được nhờ nỗ lực kiên quyết. Nỗ lực ấy ở nơi chúng sinh hữu thân, nhưng chịu sự điều ngự của trí tuệ; vì vậy, hãy hiểu rằng sự chuyên cần bền bỉ là phương tiện mạnh mẽ và đầy đủ để thành tựu mọi mục đích.
