नार्थमल्पं परिभवेन्नावमन्येत शात्रवान्‌ | बुद्धया तु बुद्धयेदात्मानं न चाबुद्धिषु विश्वसेत्‌,थोड़ा-सा भी धन मिलता हो तो उसका तिरस्कार न करे। शत्रु शक्तिहीन हो तो भी उसकी अवहेलना न करे। बुद्धिसे अपने स्वरूप और अवस्थाको समझे तथा बुद्धिहीनोंपर कभी विश्वास न करे

Translation

Bhishma nói: “Dẫu chỉ được chút tài vật cũng chớ khinh thường. Dẫu kẻ thù có vẻ yếu cũng chớ coi nhẹ. Hãy dùng trí tuệ mà hiểu rõ bản thân và thế cuộc, và đừng bao giờ đặt lòng tin nơi kẻ thiếu trí.”
