Bhṛtya-niyoga: Role-appropriate appointment of servants and protection of the royal treasury (भृत्यनियोगः कोशरक्षणं च)

योधा: समरशौटीरा: कृतज्ञा: शस्त्रकोविदा: | धर्मशास्त्रसमायुक्ता: पदातिजनसंवृता:

bhīṣma uvāca | yodhāḥ samaraśauṭīrāḥ kṛtajñāḥ śastrakovidāḥ | dharmaśāstrasamāyuktāḥ padātijanasaṃvṛtāḥ |

Bhishma nói: “Vị vua thật sự nắm quyền tối thượng trên cõi đất là người có những chiến binh đã chứng tỏ anh dũng nơi trận mạc, biết ơn và trung tín trong tâm, tinh thông việc dùng binh khí, vững vàng trong giáo huấn của dharma, và được bộ binh yểm trợ vững chắc bao quanh.”
